I just stumbled upon a cartoon that exactly illustrates the kind of situation in which Cebase would be a natural fit. Rory’s cartoon is spot on. |

Backup Made EasyJanuary 9th, 2007 by StijnThere is now an easy way of backing up your data in Cebase. We have added a full data export feature that allows you to export all of the data in an application - including files and images. You can download your data in the Settings section of your application. Beta Invitation EmailsDecember 23rd, 2006 by StijnWe’ve just send out the next round of beta invitation emails. So far we’re getting great feedback. The thoughts and comments we receive from current participants help us a lot to get the product to release. As a startup it’s nice to hear people appreciate your product. I cannot think of anything else that adds up to our own enthousiasm more than nice words coming from real users. Thank you very much! RelationshipsDecember 1st, 2006 by DaveA question I get asked alot by people that have not seen the demo movie (yet) is whether it’s possible to create relationships between lists. The answer is simple, YES you can! In fact, this has been a key requirement since the day we started designing Cebase. We wanted Cebase to be a fully fledged database so that you can model your own data driven applications and create something that looks alot like a custom developed application. There are basically two ways to create relationships, but they both come down to the same thing. I’m having a list of projects for which I also want to track tasks and documents in my example. Adding a list to a form is probably the easiest method. When you are viewing a record, click on ‘Add List‘ in the toolbar.
Here you can provide the name and fields of the list to add to the form. What happens, is that a new list is created with a LINK field back to the project list. This brings us to the other method which is to manually add a LINK field to your list. In the image below I’m simply creating a Documents list with a field named ‘Project’ which is a link to a project.
The system will automatically add a documents list to the project form so you’ll end up with something like this. Ofcourse you can customize these lists any way you like, as I have done. Sign up for a beta account and try it yourself! Now Playing: Sneak PreviewNovember 9th, 2006 by DaveStijn has just created a short demo movie that gives a pretty good impression of what you can do with Cebase. He shows the main screens of cebase while demonstrating how to convert an excel spreadsheet containing events to an online database application and how it can be extended to keep track of attendees. If you have 5 minutes of your time to spare then go see it! Private BetaOctober 30th, 2006 by StijnWe’re opening up Cebase for a small group of beta users. If you would like to take Cebase for a spin then go to our homepage and fill in your email address in the beta registration area. Because of the limited number of available beta accounts, it might take a while (up to 3 weeks) before you receive your account information. If you haven’t got the time to test drive Cebase yourself then check our blog in a few days as we will be posting a 5 minute demo movie that will give a good impression about all the features we have put into Cebase. |
